Messi and Iniesta Offered Renewal Till 2016

Barcelona is looking to tie up Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta to the club for life, with the new renewal offers tabled by the club.

Catalan paper Sport claims that the deal with Messi is almost done with the base salary amounting to 10 million euros a year. Aside from the significant pay rise which makes him the highest paid player at the club, Messi will also have his buyout clause increased to 200 million euros.

Iniesta's renewal is not nearly as advanced, but the player will probably receive a salary in a similar bracket.

Both players will be given Barca for life status with the duration of their contracts going upto 2016. Messi will be 29 and Iniesta 32, when these would expire.
