Barcelona Want Man City to Rekindle Interest in Eto'o

Barcelona are hoping to be able to persuade Manchester City to rekindle their interest in Samuel Eto'o after the player stated the no longer wants to stay at Camp Nou, reports Goal.com.

The Blaugrana want to off-load the Cameroonian goalscorer to make way for a new striker and are keen to push through a deal within the next few days, according to the Mirror.

Reports in Spain state that Eto'o's representatives have told the Barça hierarchy that he will leave this summer because he does not feel appreciated at the club.

Despite being the second highest scorer in the league last term, the former Real Mallorca forward is considered to be surplus to requirements as he will not sign a new contract.

With Barcelona offering him a two-year extension on his current rate of pay, Eto'o has decided to look for a club prepared to pay him what he is demanding.

Manchester City were ready to do just that, but they stated that their quest to sign him had ended on Friday and they weer now turning their attentions elsewhere.

Barça are hoping that the situation can be changed and that the Premier League side can be brought back in to compete with their city rivals Manchester United who are also reported to be watching the situation.

No....not Manure!!

If he doesn't want MC, let him play at least a few mins of non-critical CL quali matches, then let him go to Manure or anywhere during the January transfer window. That way he won't face us in CL09/10 to seek revenge.

buj, I think it is unreasonable to expect Eto'o to stay for any length of time. He is going to leave, so the second part of your suggestiong will never come true. I think Manchester City is the bext destination.

I hope so Anurag, I truly fear his lethality.
